Every goal-oriented player should have these items in their tennis bag and bring with them to class:

  1. Tennis racquet - if you don’t have one we can help you choose the right size and weight for your player.  We sell and string tennis equipment and shoes.
  2. Tube sock with three tennis balls inside
  3. Jump rope
  4. Towel
  5. Low tension resistance band, 2-6lbs. the tension should be relatively easy
  6. Hat or cap
  7. Sunscreen
  8. Water jug
  9. Paper/notebook and pen for journaling
  10. A cone (We provide in class but you need one for home)

Essential for home practice:

  1. Have a place to practice shadow tennis (preferably in front of a mirror and an open space like a drive way) See above video for the 42 second drill which you should do 10 times a day
  2. Hang a string from the ceiling with a piece of tape at the end at serve contact height
  3. Use an effort / reward chart on refrigerator

Highly recommended for daily practice:

  1. A portable backboard.  See me for details.  This piece of equipment is a huge game changer.  I highly recomend it.  I don’t sell it but can help you order one.
  2. Erik Goodman’s Foundation Training for improved athletic performance.  Watch his free videos at a minimum.
